How to Throw a Great Bachelorette Party

bachelorette partyAt some stage in your life you might be asked to be chief bridesmaid or maiden of honor at a best friend’s wedding. Part of your responsibilities for this will be to arrange a great bachelorette party, and this will entail various amounts of organisation, ingenuity and a superb sense of humor. It also means knowing exactly what the bride will want in advance of the party, and then maybe, (just maybe!) pushing her boundaries a little!

For example, she might say that she doesn’t want any fuss or that she doesn’t like wearing themed clothing, such as tiaras, feather boas, or even having the room decorated with penis laden items. Or, this might just be exactly what she wants. This is where your knowledge about how far to push her comes into being. Most brides-to-be secretly enjoy the fact that their best friend has gone out of her way to ensure that her bachelorette party will be one of the most memorable evenings of the whole event. You can decorate your bachelorette party, or keep it low key. The important thing is that you the other lovely ladies attending have a wonderful time celebrating the bride to be.

Throwing a great bachelorette party doesn’t have to entail spending a huge amount of money either and this can be a consideration if the wedding itself is proving to be an expensive affair. One way of getting around this is to throw a party for your bride-to-be at home. But how can you make it more exciting than just another night with the girls?

Some bachelorette parties have themes, and each guest brings a gift according to the theme. An example of this could be a lingerie bachelorette party theme, or a sex toy bachelorette party. These themes can be a fun way to help the bride get some extra sexy items to use with her soon to be husband!

A theme isn't necessary, but bear in mind that most bachelorette parties will be pretty booze-fuelled affairs. So, you will want to make sure that there is suitable food available to soak up some of the alcohol. Finger foods are a good option and try and make sure that some carbohydrate is included as this seems to help ward off hangovers!

Canapés are always popular as long as you make sure to have a variety of toppings, such as pesto, cheese or rare roast beef with horseradish cream garnish. Cut a French loaf into slices, drizzle with olive oil and toast on a griddle pan until golden. Rub with a halved clove and garlic and top with whatever you please.

Stuffed mushrooms are another popular choice. Try spinach and feta or some crispy dry-fried bacon mixed with grated cheese, a little fried onion and some herby breadcrumbs. And don’t forget to have something sweet to follow up with. Chocolate dipped strawberries always go down well, as do home-made cupcakes or peanut butter brownies; in fact anything which contains chocolate should be ideal!

And don’t forget you will need to play some silly games to completely round off your bachelorette party.

Twenty Questions:

As maid of honor it will be up to you to speak to the groom a couple of weeks before the party. Ask him some crazy questions such as “Where is the strangest place you have ever had sex?” or “Which piece of clothing do you wish she would throw out?” Ask the bride to be the questions and see if she can guess what his answers were. For every one she gets wrong, she has to have a shot.

I’ve never…:

This drinking game is super to get the naughty conversation flowing! Each of you gets to complete the sentence, “I have never…” with something you’ve never actually done. Whoever has done whatever it was must drink a shot. You may be surprised to discover who has actually done what!

All in all, take time in the planning stages and you should be sure of giving the bride-to-be a bachelorette party to remember.
